L’héritage artistique de Simone Martini (XIVe-XVe siècles), Musée du Petit Palais à Avignon
Dans le cadre du 700ème anniversaire de l’arrivée des papes à Avignon, la Pinacothèque de Sienne et le Musée du Petit Palais ont souhaité présenter une exposition sur l’un des phénomènes essentiels qui parcourt la peinture siennoise des XIVe et XVe siècles : l’héritage artistique de Simone Martini, figure majeure de la première moitié du XIVe siècle. Pour ce faire, la Pinacothèque de Sienne a consenti un prêt exceptionnel d’une trentaine d’œuvres déplacées pour la 1ère fois pour l’occasion et qui seront présentées en regard des œuvres de peintres siennois de la collection Campana du Musée du Petit Palais.

Within the framework of the celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the arrival of the popes in Avignon, the Sienna Pinacoteca and the Petit Palais museum in Avignon have organized a joint exhibition on the artistic heritage from Simone Martini, a major painter from the first half of the 14th century who influenced 14th and 15th century Sienese painting. The Sienna Pinacoteca has granted an exceptional loan of thirty works, which will be leaving Sienna for the first time, and will be on display in Avignon, side by side with other works by Sienese painters from the Campana collection at the Petit Palais museum.
